If you are looking for a horse with nice size, Apollo is your guy!  The BLM has aged him at 2 years, and he is already over 14 hands, and quite stocky!  There is a good chance he will top 15 hands.  He is also a beautiful dark bay color, and with his white markings, he's going to make a very nice-looking horse when he matures!

He was eating out of our hands the first night home. He tends to stand and watch when we are working other horses, clearly trying to figure out what's going on.  When in a group, he tends to be leader, and we have seen signs that he may grow to be a more dominant type personality.  Apollo also tends to be VERY playful!  He tries to play with anything and everything, so we have a few extra snaps and coverings around the pens to keep him safe!  When we train him, he often grabs our training tools in his mouth and tries to hold onto them--the GOOFBALL!  He will thrive on stimulation, activity, exercise, and even learning tricks and such for at least the next few years. He is the type of horse that will likely need a job or regular workouts to stay mannerly and well-behaved.   

Apollo is progressing nicely in his training.  He has had some desensitizing, halters and leads, can be petted around most of his body, picks up all 4 feet, and loads into both a step-up or ramp-load trailer.  He is learning to stand tied, learning to stand for grooming, and learning to yield and lunge.  We are very happy with his progress in the last week.  He learns quickly.  Now, he is ready to find a permanent, loving home, where he can reach his full potential!
