Reservation Policies

Payment Policy:  A $100 deposit per vehicle is required to secure your reservation.  Final payment is due at least 24 hours prior to event.  If final payment has not been received prior to event without prior arrangements in writing, we reserve the right to cancel the event.  Deposit is non-refundable less than 15 days prior to event.  Additionally, if the event location is outside of the Petersburg, IL area, there will be an additional fee of $2/mile.  Special requests or required licenses and permits may also involve additional charges, and should be discussed before submitting deposit.  We cannot guarantee  additional requests not listed in the written quote prior to deposit being paid, but we are happy to discuss your desires at any time.  We always do our best to serve!

Cancellation Policy:  Your deposit is fully refundable if you cancel more than 30 days prior to your event.  29-16 days prior, you will receive 50% of your deposit.  Less than 15 days, deposit is non-refundable. For the safety of our horses, our drivers, and all passengers, we reserve the right to cancel the contract at any time, before, the day of, or during the event. In the unlikely event WE need to cancel prior to the event (i.e. horses being injured or ill, equipment being found unsafe, inclement weather, etc.) you will receive a full refund.  If the event has already started, you will receive a pro-rated refund for the time not used.

Horse Health Policy:  For the health and well-being of our horses and to increase safety of all riders, we are careful to ensure horses receive regular breaks from work.  As a general rule, we require a 30 minute break every 3 hours of continuous use, during which time, we may choose to unhitch, remove bridles, check equipment, feed and water horses, etc. at the driver’s discretion.  For longer events, horses break times will be determined based on the terrain and environmental conditions.  This policy is factored into your pricing, and the health and safety of our horses will not be compromised.

Weather Policy:  We do everything in our power to provide the requested service at your event.  However, we will not, under any circumstance, risk the health or safety of our horses, driver, footman, or any rider or attendee of the event, if we believe weather is a threat.  As a general rule, we can safely drive in light snow flurries and rain drizzle.  However, temperatures below 20 degrees, above 85 degrees, thunder, lightning, hard rain, freezing rain, or heavy snow may require cancellation.  Slippery, ice, or snow-covered surfaces may also require cancellation, dependent on whether our horses have high-traction “ice” shoes on.  We reserve the right to cancel the ride at any time if we feel weather will compromise safety.

I understand and accept all policies listed above.  I understand that I may discuss concerns or make requests at any time, however, Red Gate Farm, LLC is only responsible for agreements confirmed in writing.  Furthermore, I have read and understand the IL Equine Activity Liability Act, as follows:

                                                                                    "WARNING
Under the Equine Activity Liability Act, each
participant who engages in an equine activity
expressly assumes the risks of engaging in and
legal responsibility for injury, loss, or
damage to person or property resulting
from the risk of equine activities."
